Inadequate signs and road surface signage
Reported via desktop in the Sign (unlit) category anonymously at 11:31, Sat 24 July 2021
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 401997.
As a result of two accidents in the last month I have looked at the signage at this junction. The give way signs in Eastgate and Hogsgate and literally on the junction thus giving drivers no chance to react if they are unfamiliar with the area. This could have been contributed to the recent accidents. Street name was also demolished in the accident on 23rd July. Would like to suggest that signs are placed further back along the road and painted road signage be improved. If replacing signs perhaps a stop sign on both these roads would be more appropriate. This issue has been presented for at least the last 8 years and probably much longer.

We are sorry but we are not taking immediate action with this report because we have reviewed the signing and there are cross road warning signs on Cob Gate/East Cob Gate and the give way signs are clearly visible. We do not propose to alter any signing. Thank you for reporting this matter.
