Obstructed footpath 2, water lane bassingham

Reported via desktop in the Overgrown tree/hedges category anonymously at 09:34, Wed 28 July 2021

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 402246.

This is about the section of Footpath 2, Bassingham, from 35 Water Lane to the vicinity the private drive to 8 Hall Wath. The path is clear from the northern access from Water Lane to a private access gate on the west side of the path. From there it runs south bordered by a trimmed hedge on the east and shrubs on the west planted against a fence to the property. Over time, the west-side shrubs have grown into a thick hedge with nettles that has progressively narrowed the path to the extent that passing other users on the path is very difficult. The obstruction eases abruptly at the boundary of the west-side property. This footpath is well used as a connecting way in the village and for recreational walkers. Please clear the overgrown material and restore the proper width of the footpath.
