Manhole in front of #52 in footpath lifting
Reported via mobile in the Blocked drain category anonymously at 17:35, Fri 30 July 2021
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 402413.
When we have bad down pours the manhole in the footpath is lifting spill water on to the road and overloading the road gully’s and causing surface flooding. The manhole carry’s surface water from Clement close to a soak away you installed 2 years ago located in the verge outside #50/52. Either the pipes connecting the soak away to the manhole are blocked or the soak away is insufficient. Maybe a new soak away could be installed in Clement close so they retain their own water and don’t overwhelm the gully’s and flood the road of Heathfield ave/ shardloes.

We are sorry but we are not taking immediate action with this report. A detailed investigation of the highway surface water drainage system already carried out across the whole estate showed that the issue is related to poor ground soakage and insufficient storage within the existing drainage system. The flooding of the highway whilst regrettable can only be mitigated by significant investment in drainage improvements across the whole estate and whilst there are no reports indicating flooding of internal property living space it is highly unlikely that the issues described will be resolved in the near future. Thank you for reporting this matter.
