Road flooded
Reported via desktop in the Flooding category anonymously at 18:55, Fri 30 July 2021
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 402424.
Road and grass verge in front of Nos. 30 and 32 Heathfield Avenue, Branston flooded due top the extremely heavy rainfall experienced on 30th July 2021. I believe this to be due to the drainage being blocked or insufficient to cope. This happened some years ago and upon inspection it was discovered that the incorrect type of pipework had been installed. Temporary measures were carried out as there were insufficient funds to do the repairs correctly. This is an ongoing issue to our road and needs rectifying asap please

We are sorry but we are not taking immediate action with this report. A detailed investigation of the highway surface water drainage system already carried out across the whole estate showed that the issue is related to poor ground soakage and insufficient storage within the existing drainage system. The flooding of the highway whilst regrettable can only be mitigated by significant investment in drainage improvements across the whole estate and whilst there are no reports indicating flooding of internal property living space it is highly unlikely that the issues described will be resolved in the near future. Thank you for reporting this matter.
