Unfortunately due to the narrowness of the carriageway at 5.7m, together with the plant, equipment and materials required for this type of works along with a 1.2m 'site safety zone' and a temporary pedestrian walkway we are currently unable to achieve the required absolute minimum width for any motorized vehicles to travel through the site, at this time. The absolute minimum width being 3.0m for normal traffic including buses and HGV's & 2.5m for cars and light vehicles only. This is in accordance to 'Safety at Street Works and Road Works - A Code of Practice' October 2013. We are now 4 weeks into the works and due to favourable conditions the works are currently ahead of schedule. Thank you for reporting this matter.
