Many large potholes and road collapsing
Reported via desktop in the Pothole on road/cycleway category by Victoria Clark - Clerk to the Council at 15:20, Thu 7 October 2021
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 406740.
In the past it was stated that after the installations of the art works that the road would be upgraded and another layby added. However the road is deteriorating with large and frequent pot holes and also collapsing. Lower vehicles are unable to journey down here.
Thank you for your report. We will investigate and make an update to this report within 14 days.

We are sorry but we are not taking immediate action with this report. The area was recently inspected, some potholes have already been repaired and we have raised jobs for others which are at intervention level. The area towards the end of Scalp Road is not part of the publicly maintained highway and therefore potholes within that zone, are not repaired by Lincolnshire County Council. To find the owner of the land you could contact Land Registry at https://www.gov.uk/ government/ organisations/ land-registry The initial request for surface and patching works was put forward 2 years ago to be added to a programme of permanent works, but due to the 200th anniversary and the high volume of visitors this was not feasible. The request for 2 x laybys was added to our future programme of permanent works and is still within our system to be considered however these will be subject to funding and other County priorities. Thank you for reporting this matter.
