Appalling Road Repair

Reported via desktop in the Road surface issue category anonymously at 18:37, Sat 9 October 2021

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 406844.

Dear SKDC Last week a repair was performed to the Stamford Road from the A1 to the Bourne Road crossing. The work performed was to a very low standard, with poor signage northbound and no signage southbound. This has resulted in a car losing control and debris has been left on the verge and in the hedge. Please come soonest and arrange for a better repair to be performed before another accident happens. Many thanks Jenny McKinlay

  • As reported this repair is unsafe, photo of incident caused by excess gravel left on road causing vehicle to leave the road. Poor road repair is compounded by totally inadequate signage as there are no warning signs on the verges and only a buckled cardboard sign hidden behind a tree attached to a footpath sign, how is this appropriate?

  • We arranged for slippery road signs to be put out following the receipt of information that signs were not visible. These signs were noted as being present when our Highways Officer visited site on an ad-hoc visit en route to other destination. Thank you for reporting this matter.

State changed to: No further action
