Blocked highway edge drain on A52
Reported via desktop in the Blocked drain category anonymously at 10:14, Wed 20 October 2021
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 407564.
Drain is blocked, overflowing this morning before rain started at 9:00. No photo, as no camera. Location N side, between house-blocks of Orchard & Sherwood.
The blocking-debris is from Staple open-trucks carrying shredded maize from field to site storage for their bio-mass electric generator. They use open trailers without any covers to prevent this wind-blown rubbish escaping, they need the same trailer attachment as scrap-skip transporters.. Staples road-sweeping is always too little too late. They should also do the drain clearing at their own full expense.
Your drain position yellow-dots are in the wrong place on the map, both the carriagway side and physical E-W locations. Also, some drain positions do not exist.

Your assessment is wrong. The new photo shows the still-blocked drain overflowing onto the roadway. Passing vehicles splash pedestrians and dump water/sludge onto the pavement where it pools in a surface depresion fault (also reported Council ref: 408907). I note that your roadway drains have a single yearly shcheduled cleaning, That is insufficient for this section of the A52 through Wrangle with a higher incidence of farm vehicles from field to processing (dumping soil and crop debris onto the carriageway and into the drains - Staples, Leggates etc). To remind you, roadway drains are there to remove surface water from the carriageway for vehicle safety (and footway pedestrians), when blocked they need urgent cleaning, especially where recurring instances (previous years reporting). Other drains are also blocked along this section of A52 (incidentally a frequent flood risk area). The cleaning schedule minimum should be October and then April for this agricultural route through Wrangle.
