Almost permanent flooded further up the road
Reported via desktop in the Flooding category anonymously at 13:53, Sun 31 October 2021
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 408387.
The drain in the gutter at the left corner outside our house at 337 NEWARK ROAD, Lincoln simply can’t cope with heavy rainfall. This results in a small river running through our garage and into our back garden. It also “backs up” into the almost permanently flood on the bend of of the road outside 341 Newark Road. Since we moved in in 2009 its done this at least 6 times including today. The first time it included sewage - thankfully not since. An additional hazard is that all along this stretch of road cars park on our side of the road, some with wheels on the path not only making it difficult for wheel chair users and Parents with pushchairs etc but the cars along with the flood water pushes cars to cross the middle of the road into the outer of the two lanes where cars approach the Brant Road traffic lights. At times cars travelling too quickly plough through the flooded part of the road causing waves of water onto the pavements. There are already damaged parts of the far side of the road that cause cars to soak pedestrians. It’s not getting any better. I do hope you can do something about it
