Footway standing water & sludge.
Reported via desktop in the Trip hazard/uneven surface category anonymously at 09:36, Fri 5 November 2021
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 408907.
OS Grid Reference e TF 42908 51257 Footway surface depression, no longer slopes to roadway for drainage. Water and spray from roadway traffic pooling, leaving water and sludge too deep and slippery for pedestrians, now a serious safety hazard. Also note adjacent blocked roadway gutter drain (reported previously).
Action required – build up and re-contour footway surface to drain over kerbstones into roadway edge gutter. Note for inspection – do not view site on a dry day, measurable rainfall within 12hours of 5+mm (a misguided practice on other faults).

With regards to gully issues: Works raised to attend to cleanse the kerb offlets on 20 April 2021 and any needing monitoring were recorded. These reports are processed by the Highways Officers and repairs will only be actioned if there is a significant flooding issue associated with any blocked connections. Upon assessment of the photos provided they show a relatively small volume of water standing on the road, to a degree that it is not causing a safety issue or putting properties at risk. Any gullies missed during that original cleanse due to cars being parked over the gullies have been re-raised as a works order on job: 5629047. In reference to the footway issues: Upon assessment of the photos provided, they show a relatively small volume of water standing on the road, to a degree that is not causing a safety issue or putting properties at risk. Although it must be inconvenient, it would be difficult to justify the resource required to carry out repairs here and the team will monitor as part of its routine maintenance programme. Thank you for reporting this matter.
