Continuing problem with hedgerow butting up adjacent to road bend
Reported via desktop in the Visibility at junction or bend category anonymously at 11:48, Sun 7 November 2021
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 409068.
On this bend on the A52 heading in the direction of Boston from Grantham, the hedges butt up directly to the roadside, causing safety and visibility issues with drivers rounding the corner. This has been previously reported but the landowner has not carried out maintenance as suggested would be the case by LCC. Unmanaged hedgerows are a safety issue to drivers and cause a loss of species diversity. A roadside verge is also a safety retreat for other road users, such as walkers/animals.

I notice that more than 14 days has passed since the last update on this matter on 8 November. It is important that action is taken before bird nesting season prevents any cutting back occurring Thank you

As yet I have seen no action on this issue which has been under investigation since 8 November. Can you please advise what is being investigated and when the investigation is expected to be completed. I drove past the area today (in Grantham direction). At some points it is not possible to see traffic coming in the opposite direction due to the overgrown verge. The road makings allow overtaking (with care) which no longer seems appropriate (solid lines needed?) Thank you

I have noticed that there is a hazard warning sign hidden within the hedge. This appears to be warning of bends in the road so must be visible to traffic The hedge really needs cutting back as a matter of urgency
