A vehicle speed activated sign obscured

Reported via iOS in the Sign (lit) category anonymously at 08:59, Wed 1 December 2021

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 410671.

When travelling along the link road from The Old Great North Road at Tollbar to the junction with the A1, there is a sign on the verge that flashes when approaching vehicles are travelling more than 30mph. It’s not working because it is now obscured by the hedge/shrub that has grown round it.

  • I went past that sign in the week, and although it was cleared of vegetation several months ago and was working correctly, there are bushes growing in front of the device again and these partly obscure the window that is necessary to observe approaching vehicles and calculate their speed. Those that are under the 30mph do not trigger a response from the machine. Many vehicles are travelling at more than 30mph; but there are 2 junctions and a pedestrian crossing along that road! So the bushes need trimming again!
