On-Going Issue

Reported via desktop in the Manhole/drain cover on pavement/verge category anonymously at 13:07, Mon 6 December 2021

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 411015.

We have reported this issue time and time again, and your fix is to put a roadcode over it.

Pedestrians use this verge and it is very close to the highway. If a member of public was to step on the manhole cover it would give way under them and cause serious injury. The cone keeps getting hit by vehicles and blown off the cover.

This is an urgent matter tha we recieve a compain about regularly.

We appriciate that the manhole cover is not a LCC one, but someone needs to take responsibility and get this fixed. Can you not fix it and bill whoever is responsible? A cone is simply not good enough.

  • Hi

    Update on the mystery manhole.

Both Anglian Water AND Western Power have attended in the last 24 hours and both have said that it's not their manhole. Western Power have suggested that the cables look like they might belong to the streetlights in the layby. Can this be investigated by LCC?

Both Anglian Water and Western Power agree that the issue is urgent and needs an immediate fix. The risk of injury is high.
