Pedestrian Accident Risk

Reported via desktop in the Crossing not working category anonymously at 14:08, Fri 10 December 2021

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 411385.

Now that the dual carriageway is effectively three carriageways wide each side, the pedestrian crossing here is potentially dangerous especially on the eastbound carriageway of the A17 as fast-moving vehicles cut along this road directly into the path of the crossing without warning. Pedestrians have to cross a greater distance and there is no way of telling whether stationery traffic on the westbound carriageway is about to move - even if you look at the traffic lights as you cross. Ideally an alternative pedestrian route - with stop/go signals should be made available to make this crossing safe for all users at all times.
