Water leak

Reported via iOS in the Obstruction on pavement/verge category anonymously at 13:03, Sat 18 December 2021

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 412011.

This Anglian Water leaking asset was reported months ago as requiring a repair. This was reported to them months ago but no team has turned up to effect a permanent repair. Previous attempts have been unsuccessful . The path along part of Willoughby Road is now coned off. This means pedestrians have to walk in the road, instead of on the pavement . The ongoing leak of water will produce an icy patch, for pedestrians and motorists . Sort it!

  • This stretch of road is outside 4 old people‚Äôs bungalows . They would not be nimble of foot at their time of life , and the accumulation of wet leaves is just another problem for them to deal with - right outside their front door.

  • We have spoken to the utility provider who currently have work planned at this location. Judging from the date the order was raised and taking into account permit requests and investigations, it appears that the work should take place between now and mid January. The footway has been closed off at the source of the issue as a safety precaution after numerous requests to do so. When raising a closure like this, alternative pedestrian access will be taken into account such as dropped kerb access to the opposite footway. With the possible appearance of frost and ice over the next few weeks, signage will also be placed at this location soon to warn motorists of the danger. Thank you for reporting this matter.

State changed to: No further action
