Overgrown vegetation along narrow pavement at London Road
Reported via desktop in the Overgrown tree/hedges category anonymously at 17:35, Thu 13 January 2022
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 414248.
The pavement along London Road (B1520) from the top of the hill to the sports ground is very narrow in parts. This cannot be helped. However, this situation is made worse by the vegetation being allowed to grow over the brick wall and into the pavement, reducing the amount of space people have to safely navigate the path. Combined with the excessive amounts of leaves which are not cleared or swept up over the winter months, the pavement becomes extremely narrow. Two people cannot pass. One person has to step into the road. Can the council (or appropriate landowner) cut back the vegetation along this full stretch of pavement, and sweep up the leaves, to ensure the full width of path is available please? It is a simple request which would make this pavement far safer and enjoyable to walk along.

We have spoken with the Town Council and they are clearing the leaves from the footway at present although it is normally the responsibility of East Lindsey District Council. The Town Council will check the vegetation and cut back as required. Thank you for reporting this matter.
State changed to: not the council's responsibility

Thank you for the update. Could you explain; if this is the responsibility of East Lindsey District Council, why are they not undertaking the work please?
