Blocked drain on Newmarket Road
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 414669.
The drain halfway up the hill heading east (on northern side of carriageway) of Newmarket is blocked with mud. The rain water cannot drain through the metal work. Needs unblocking and a bit of a general clean.

Although it appears there are two openings of this drain which are not blocked, on closer inspection they are full of dirt beneath the metal surface.

This blocked drain has caused a significant amount of leaves, twigs and other debris to accumulate within the gutter on the north side of the carriageway on Newmarket. This is not good for cyclists. The gutter could do with a visit from a road sweeper to remove all of the rubbish and thick mud created by the blockage and flooding. Photos show the extent of the dirt and debris along this roadside which needs cleaning please.

Dear Lincolnshire County Council. Disappointingly, despite your update, this drain blockage has not been fixed. I walked past the drain today (13/02/22) in the rain and the drain appeared blocked and flooded. See photos. Rainwater was flowing down the road and running straight over the drain, continuing down the hill. Can you attend, investigate fully and resolve properly please, so that we don't have to report this again?
