Uneven surface unsuitable for heavy vehicles

Since the Bypass opened more and more vehicles use Church Hill to get to it from the other villages. We have a very large amount of heavy vehicles now using this road which is highly unsuitable as they rattle due to the uneven surface. This road ideally needs to limit the weight of the lorries that are using it - their Sat Navs direct them this way at the moment. With the planned sainsburys in Washingborough this is going to become much worse and something needs to be done about it please.

We are sorry but we are not taking immediate action with this report. An officer has carried out an assessment of the request and whilst maintenance work to improve the overall carriageway condition on Church Hill is currently being considered we are afraid that the installation of any type of weight restriction will not be investigated further at this time. It is worth noting that unless any such legal restriction involves a weak structure within the highway then local access within the area for HGV's including farm vehicles, delivery vehicles and school buses will still be permitted. Neither is there currently any reliable method of enforcement available to ensure any such order is complied with. We are afraid that the use of such restrictions by the Council are limited to very severe cases only. Thank you for reporting this matter.
