Blocked drain causing surface flooding after heavy rain, has been like this for the past 5 years at least

  • We are sorry but we are not taking immediate action with this report because we have visited the site and saw no evidence of flooding at the location marked in this report. We have carried out numerous drainage repairs in this location. Should this happen again, please report it to us again and attach any photos if possible. Thank you for reporting this matter.

  • I've uploaded photos previously, which show that when there has been heavy or prolonged rainfall, the drain floods and a large proportion of the cul-de-sac is under water. It would have been helpful if you had looked at the drain, including lifting up the metal grate - you'd have seen how blocked the drain was. The "numerous drainage repairs in this location" have been on drains on the main road of Watery Lane, rather than the cul-de-sac part. When your operatives are next in the area, I am more than willing to speak to someone to show them the specific drain that's blocked, as will my neighbours. I will make sure I upload photos when (not if) this happens again.
