Barnby Lane, Claypole - loose surface run off cover
Reported via mobile in the Damaged dyke, ditch or culvert category anonymously at 16:32, Mon 21 February 2022
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 418005.
Hi team, I live at 9 Barnby Lane, Claypole. There is a drainage cover for a surface water run-off drain in front of my house and it has come loose. Whenever a car drives over it there is a banging noise and I am also worried about potential damage to the cars in question. Could you please send someone out to repair it?
The noise first started about a week and a half ago.
I have already spoken with Anglian Water and they have sent a team to assess it. They have, however, advised that because it is a surface water run-off drain it is the responsibility of the Local Authority and not the water company. I am happy to have a chat with a member of your team if needed. Please let me know if you have any questions. Many thanks, Greg

Today is the 15/03/2022. This problem has not been dealt with. It is very noisy with every car that goes over it. Could we get this repaired please?

Hi. I’ve phoned up about this twice and have asked that someone comes out to fix the problem. To date, nothing has changed. The drain cover is still loose and makes a loud noise whenever a car drives over it.
Can someone please be sent out to fix this ASAP as it is incredibly noisy and a danger to cars driving over it. Thank you.

I echo comments already made about the lack of action been taken on this matter. This needs addressing as soon as possible as it is getting worse due to the large farm machinery that uses the lane. There is an increased risk therefore that an incident will happen the longer this is left.

Thank you for the update but this is the second time that this has been action scheduled . So I’m not understanding why action hasn’t taken place. Please provide a date that the action will actually happen .

I note with concern that the update on 10th August that work is scheduled. It is now 3rd October yet no work is or has taken place. This was first reported on 21st February 2022!! This length of delay is inexcusable. It is now over 7 months and still the council have done absolutely nothing to resolve the concerns of residents and rate payers.
