Several pot holes on fountain the major issue is towards the bottom of fountain Street towards Westbrook Grove

Reported via mobile in the Pothole on road/cycleway category anonymously at 22:28, Mon 21 February 2022

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 418037.

These pot holes have existed for over two years and have been deteriated over the last year. The main issue is fountain Street is only wide enough for one way traffic and at the bottom near the pond there is lots of pot holes which is a very dangerous hazard and cause danger to people I have twisted my ankle before. As this area also has poor lighting and I consider it to be a priority as this area has elderly people living in the area and also is on the tourist map of Caistor. Someone is going to get hurt and it's not great for the cars coming up and down as it is very tight with parking card and a wall on the other side. I would consider this as urgent as tourists are not safe visiting

  • This is a major issue down there, especially in icy conditions with pensioner bungalows at the bottom and so a duty of care issue This is caused by constant running water from springs. ( Along the wall to the left of Syfer Spring - not Syfer spring itself) running across the road. A site inspection was conducted by Robin Gill (RIP), myself, and town councillors and he concluded it required the culvert that runs under the road replacing for one sufficient to take the water. He did explain that at that time their contractors were being changed and it would definitely be booked in but might initially be a delay BUT it would be done. That was 2 to 3 years ago. Videos were presented through this site so MUST still be current.

  • These works are NOT complete. Only the pot holes have been done and not the issue that is causing them. Namely the springs running out of the wall that I did the followon report about. Robin Gill, RIP, stated the culvert under the road needed re-doing and would be done ASAP.
