Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 418257.
To whom it may concern, Despite numerous complaints from the residents to their local councillor, nothing seems to have been done regarding vehicles parking either side of the entrance/exit to Somersby Court, Gospelgate, Louth LN11 9NN. On Sunday 20th February 2022, I collected my mother-in-law, who lives in Somersby Court, to bring her to our house. As I carefully pulled out of the gateway, I nearly hit a car coming from my right. I couldn't see it coming as there was a van parked tight to the gateway and the other driver couldn't see me due to the same vehicle. This is an issue on both sides of the entrance/exit and it is a major concern for all of the elderly residents of Somersby Court that drive. I would suggest it is only a matter of time before there is an accident of some sort and I sincerely hope that a cyclist is not involved. I wanted to bring this to your attention, although I suspect you are probably aware of this already. Double yellow lines on either side of the entrance/exit would resolve this issue straight away.
In the event of a collision of any description, please be aware that we shall hold you responsible for failing to do anything about this situation. I will also make this email available to the relevant insurance companies so that they can pursue the council for failing to act as well.
I look forward to your prompt response.

Lincolnshire County Council is the relevant authority and it is Cllr Sarah Parkin who has been dealing with this since her re-election.

I have every sympathy with this post as I live not far away. First though it should be made clear which councillor is referred to as I guess it is actually Sarah Parkin , LCC councillor, not the town or district councillor. LCC owned this land in the past as education authority and we’re determined to sell it by any means giving themselves several ‘deemed consents’ ( not allowed now). With scant forward vision. Another issue is the county and district attitude to parking in Gospelgate, School House Lane and George Street. Over 5 years ago residents requested a residents only parking zone overwhelmingly. That has been systematically ignored and the carefully produced evidence destroyed by ELDC. Having agreed about the danger at this location, thee removal of spaces would just make parking matters worse. Stephen Kirby 33 George Street.
