We are sorry we are not taking further action on this enquiry at this time. An officer has already assessed the recent drainage cleansing report whilst also visiting the location. All drainage pipes and gullies are now proved to be running to capacity with the likely cause of the flooding thought to be the level of the bed in the adjacent water course which is at or exceeding the current outfall pipe level under the footbridge. A brief has been drawn up regarding the flooding which has now been forwarded to the relevant highways manager who will consider proposals to provide improved drainage infrastructure at the location within future highway maintenance work programs. The Internal Drainage Board may also be consulted to ascertain whether the existing maintenance of the watercourse is adequate or not. We are afraid that no timescales can be provided at this time for any such improvement work which is fully dependent upon resource and priorities across the County as a whole. Please be aware that all roads are inspected for safety and condition at a frequency in accordance with Council policy. Thank you for reporting this matter.
