Partially blocked drains.
Reported via desktop in the Blocked drain category by Cllr Dennis Dannatt at 17:24, Friday 4 March 2022
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 419130.
Just north of the pedestrian crossing point at the junction of Bridge St and Thornton St both drains are partially blocked which leads to local flooding at the crossing point even in less than severe wet weather. You state that these drains have been running normally during the past year, I would beg to differ on this point. I walk my dogs daily and cross at this point, these drains have been flooding in wet weather for over TWO YEARS despite the fact that Bridge St was recently re-surfaced. The surface gutter was full as recently as this morning after only light showers.

We are sorry that we are not taking immediate action with this report. Our records show that the drains in this area were cleaned in the last year and were running well. In times of extreme weather even the most efficient systems can become overwhelmed. If the problem recurs in less extreme conditions please report this again. Thank you for reporting this matter.
