Stone milestone pillar uprooted
Reported via iOS in the Obstruction on pavement/verge category anonymously at 12:09, Sat 5 March 2022
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 419175.
I noticed that someone has careered into the stone milestone pillar that stood close to the junction of A151 West Road and A6121 Stamford Road, and it’s now upside down! No respect for history! It’s been snapped off from the base. The vehicle seems to have exited Stamford Road at speed, driven along the footpath and in attempting to get back on the main road has collided with the milestone!

The Salt/Sand Bin located close by has since been clattered /destroyed by yet a vehicle impact, presumably another vehicle unable to stop at the Give Way line!!

We have made a temporary repair....this involved removing the broken twisted metal posts/signs. That isn't fixing the problem because a replacement sign has not been erected in the past 5 months. The design and signage are deficient in their present form. The splay visibility to the left when exiting Stamford Road is reduced due to bushes obscuring the view until well over the slow line. Why isn't it a 'STOP' sign?
