Completed Roadworks Worse Than Original Problem
Reported via mobile in the Problem at LCC roadworks category anonymously at 17:41, Wed 23 March 2022
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 420922.
The “repair” roadworks that have been done here over the last couple of days have been completed to a very poor standard. The surface is appalling and has not really improved anything. If anything, with all the loose chippings now sprayed everywhere, it’s actually worse than it was before.
Clearly been done by people who either don’t care about their work, or are unqualified. What a waste of money.

Disappointing to note this after efforts to get this addressed. Works not yet completed. Have visited site today and works remain in progress with full width jet patching being carried out but due to be finished today, 24th March. There are a lot of loose clippings and I have contacted Highways CSC to ask that arrangement are made for the street to be swept after works completed.

I’m sorry but the surface is still extremely rough. Yes, the comment was a bit premature but I stand by my comment that it’s a waste of money. All that resource spent on something which still ends up being poor. Just wasteful in my eyes.

We are sorry but we are not taking immediate action with this report. We recognise that the use of spray injection patching as a permanent repair does not offer the ride quality of fully resurfacing or patching a road, though the cost is a factor of 20-30 lower and should last for a considerable amount of time until we are able to look at renewing the road surface entirely. Spray injection patching has proved to be cost effective over the lifecycle of carriageways in the UK. Thank you for reporting this matter.
State changed to: No further action
