Road Diversion not being followed

Reported via desktop in the Collapsed verge category anonymously at 11:51, Wed 6 April 2022

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 421884.

Road closures in Kirton village have resulted in a large increase of traffic using Bungley Lane as a cut through. Diversion signs are not being followed. Signs at each end of Bungley Lane state “not suitable for diverted traffic” but being ignored. Seen several near misses due to the speed of vehicles and grass verges are being destroyed. Would be better if the signs at each end of Bungley Lane say “ROAD CLOSED”. Then only residents and builders could use without the verge damage continuing for 9-12 weeks and will save money in repair costs. Bungley Lane is already in a poor state of repair!
