Danger to motorcyclists
Reported via iOS in the Road surface issue category anonymously at 10:34, Friday 22 April 2022
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 422962.
Farm vehicles leaving mud on road. Inadequate signage to warn road users, particularly motorcyclists on this 60mph stretch, as road users are already in the muddy area before the first sign when travelling to Branston. When travelling from Branston there is only a sign some 40metres before the hazard. The farm workers are deploying road cleaning equipment to mitigate the problem but it is in between these efforts that there is danger. Extra signage would give adequate warning.
Thank you for your report. We will investigate and make an update to this report within 14 days.

We use a risk-based approach to prioritise encroachments that are considered to be a significant danger or nuisance to users of the highway. In this instance we aren’t taking immediate enforcement action but will continue to monitor and review this site as part of our routine inspections of the highway. If the problem deteriorates considerably, please report this again to us. Thank you for reporting this matter.
