Cutting grass that is already decimated
Reported via desktop in the Weed spraying category anonymously at 12:08, Mon 25 April 2022
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 423133.
I am so angry about the state of the grass on my street. It has always been lush. Now after aggressive and mindless spraying is almost nonexistent. Instead of controlling just the edge it’s now a thin band of green to the verge. We have had no rain for weeks and today it is being cut! It is not being given the chance to recover. There’s nothing there - it’s almost just dirt and stones across the whole depth. We can now ‘look forward’ to a mud bath once it does rain. Why is this contractor being paid for such an unprofessional job? There won’t be anything to cut after this fiasco.

As of today the pavement edge of the grass verges have been trimmed. Tree roots have been exposed so that contaminated water will reach the roots more easily. Power washing has been used and the grass verge is now black and full of grit. What a mess!
I absolutely object to the fact that the cut edges have not been removed but have been thrown onto the 2 lovely, grassy banks at the entrance of Vanessa Road. These huge lumps of grass and grit will be highly contaminated and take years to decompose. They will leave unsightly gaps on the grass slopes which are topped by lovely trees. People walking past have made unfavourable comments to me as well as neighbours.
There has been no consultation or warning. Weed killing spraying was done on a Sunday so no chance of contacting the Council for an explanation. Where is the money coming from? Aren’t there other parts of the infrastructure that need attention? Obviously there are! I have lived here over a decade and never seen such thoughtless spoiling of a lovely tree-lined residential street.
