Hi,
Sorry to be a pain/burden.
However we are now at the position that any lorries/tractors going past appear to "bump" due to the noise we hear which is followed by the house shaking. This has only appeared in the past few weeks and appears to be getting worse. I can take a look out the front to see if I can see any visible change if needed?

Hi,
Thank you for sending someone to look at the situation yesterday, I look forward to hearing about a resolution.
As explained to the chap the situation has got to the point where our house and the house across the street as noticeable shaking when lorries hit the bump.
Who would we send the bill to, if cracks or damage start to appear on the properties?

We acknowledge your concerns and accept that the highway has deteriorated in condition. We have assessed the fault in accordance with our Highways Infrastructure Asset Management Plan and it does not require urgent action. If the fault deteriorates significantly please report this again to us. There are many factors affecting the transmission of noise and vibration in properties which are adjacent to carriageways, including noise nuisance through HGV tyres, transmissions through utility or private apparatus, for example underground sewer pipes. Other factors include soil types, moisture content of the soils, distance from the source and also the depth and condition of the foundation and the condition of the structure of the property. If you believe you have suffered any loss, either by noise and/or vibration, you should contact your insurance provider who may investigate the matter via an independent Engineer and may ultimately pursue a claim. Alternatively, you may wish to commission your own engineering investigation which would include a survey on your building. Thank you for reporting this matter.

Hi,
Thank you for the update and I understand the feedback, however the problem has only started to occur since the pothole was repaired. Prior to this, there was no issues with the house shaking. Our neighbours over the road have lived here for 20 years and this is the first time they have also had such an issue.
The problem is the repair that has been made is risen and not flush with the road. This is causing empty trailers etc to bounce as the hit the bump and then hit down on the floor.
I will happily record some of the shaking so you can hear and also see the shaking.
The chap that previously came to investigate, took no measurements or any photos of the situation and simply took my word and left.
I will take some photos later this evening to show the bump.

Hi,
Can I pleave have details to enable me to escalate this further? I will also bring my neighbours in to the case.
I don't understand how the you are unable to understand that SINCE the pot hole has been repaired, we've had issues.
I wish the pot hole was never reported as atleast the house wasn't shaking prior!
I stood outside this morning to watch LGV/HGV/TRACTORS as they pass, you can physically see the axle/trailers shake as the hit the bump which is causing the house to shake.
What will it take me to prove this? I will happily spend the day outside, recording on my phone so you can see how it is affecting traffic. Will that cause action to be taken?

Is there any movement following my last post?
Following the poor repair, we are now noticing internal and external cracks.
I understand we are by a road, however the noise of the vehicles slamming over the bump is very loud and is the reason for the recent issues. I will check with my neighbours on the weekend for any recent cracks on their properties since the shoddy repair. I will follow up with photos.
