Good afternoon. The footpath running along Wragby Road Sudbrooke after the last house where it becomes Sudbrooke Park/Scout Camp area has encouraching trees/bushes that makes that footpath essentially single file all the way up to the farm junction road. The road is a very fast road however, currently you have to walk right next to the road at some points because bushes, trees, apples are restricting the path. Thank you.

  • This is causing a serious danger to pedestrians who are forced onto the busy A158 just to be able to get by the vegetation that has overgrown the footpath. It is only a matter of time before someone is struck. The footpath is used by locals and there is also the Scout camp nearby.

    The Lincoln County Council is not responsible for a footpath along one of its roads? Lincoln is not responsible for the A158? Your land registry link doens enable you to find owners of main roads, please can you advise how i do that?

  • Hello, are you not responsible for enforcing action where required to maintain access to the footpath. Also it is not for the public to prove ownership of the land to lincolnshire county council. If you are saying it is not part of the highway they please provide this evidence. It appears that at least some of the vegetation that is causing the obstruction is on land that is part of the highway and therefore very much your responsibility to sort in addition to enforcing any action required by an adjacent land owner as required.

    Vehicles have already struck parts of the overgrown vegetation which goes over the top and through the public footpath and into the carriageway. I cannot see how anyone from your department has attending this and concluded it is safe. As already stated this appears very much your responsibly either through resolving the issue on the highway or through enforcement.

  • Update, another lorry wing mirror has been ripped off and on the footpath.

    I've now checked with National Highways and they have said its not their responsibility.

    So this road and footpath must be Lincoln council's responsibility?
