Subway lights not working and streetlight at top of steps not working so forth not lighting steps in the dark and is dangerous as steps are slippy

  • We’ve been to the site and investigated the issue. We couldn’t get this sorted just yet and more work is needed. We’ll keep you informed about how this progresses.

  • The light at the top of the connaught Road subway is still not working. The stairway is dark and the steps are hard to see. I fell and twisted my ankle which is badly bruised. How long does it take to change a light bulb? 3 months and counting. Very dissappointing.

  • Great news, we’ve had a look at the issue and we have now passed to our Highways Officers for the team to assess what can be done to resolve the matter. We’ll let you know when the assessment has taken place.

  • This job has been cancelled. The light at the top of the stairs was connected and tested and was working on 03/03/23. Assets inside subway - cabling, lanterns and drive gear were removed back in 2017. Thank you for reporting this matter.
