Westcliffe road Scotter from Mill Cr to Scotton Road

Reported via mobile in the Trip hazard/uneven surface category anonymously at 17:16, Sat 3 September 2022

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 430908.

The footpath is in very poor condition surface breaking up and trip hazards. The footpath is used by a high proportion of elderly with mobility issues, mobility scooters and families with prams. It is only a matter of time before an elderly person trips and falls. Potholes outside number 18 causing extra wear on cars suspension. If this path is not treated before winter I hate to think what condition it will be in once the frosts start. Several residents have cut the verge back to keep the pathe wide enough for pedestrians prams and mobility scooters. The overgrown grass verge has damaged the surface and this will only get worse. Mill Crescent has a high prportion of elderly and they need to use this path as it is there only access to the village, and Dr's Surgery.

  • Further to previous comments I have still not received an update. This issue has becoming ridiculous, during the recent freezing temperatures residents felt unsafe using this footpath and used the road instead but this was the lesser of 2 evils as the road was also very icy.

  • Hello Happy new year. Will you please advise me when you intend to provide an update on the issue raised some months ago, and several updates since the initial report.

  • Well well well, it was bound to happen, yes an elderly lady has fallen on the footpath today needing emergency treatment to her cuts and bruises. I am not aware if she has sustained other injuries as she is still in the ambulance. I am sick and tired and very frustrated at the lack of action on this matter first raised in Sepremver 2022. This is just not good enough. You would soon take action on me if I didn't pay my council tax for 7 months. You need to attend to this matter soon if not sooner. It will happen again and next time the injuries might be a lot worse.
