Investigating
A17 roundabout with B1359 at CHapelgate Gedney
Reported via desktop in the Visibility at junction or bend category anonymously at 12:52, Tue 1 November 2022
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 435433.
Its no point putting the status as fixed as by cutting the grass it does not resolve the issue of the bushes and trees now grown so tall they obstruct the view on entering the A17 roundabout from the B1359 Chaplegate as you can see by the pictures. Its surprising that there have been only a few accidents here. Especially as the A17 is dual carriage way at this point and both lanes are used to continue onwards along the A17.

We are sorry you feel that cutting the grass doesn’t resolve the issue. Visibility is taken from the junction and when an officer visited Chapelgate the visibility is acceptable in relation to highway safety. Kind regards, For Programme Leader MMT & Cyclical

..Of course it’s improved now as the leaves have fallen off the trees you try getting visibility in a low sports car coming out of there it’s only going to get worse as the trees and shrubs grow. And regain their leaves. I am reporting an obstruction to view which is dangerous not a bloomin squashed hedgehog!
