Where the public footpath meets the road between 10A and 12 Cumberland Gardens
Reported via desktop in the Blocked drain category anonymously at 18:06, Tue 8 November 2022
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 436236.
Council ref: 425475. Five months ago you said this would be fixed as part of routine maintenance. No action has been taken. The two blocked drains are now barely visible they are so overgrown. Increase in surface water flow has resulted. This will worsen as we head into winter.

Why have we closed this report? We cleaned this areas drains in the last year and our last inspection showed that they are working well. It’s worth noting though that at times of extreme weather even well-maintained drains like these can be overwhelmed. If the problem happens again but in less extreme conditions then please report this to us and we will investigate the issue again. Thank you for reporting this matter.

Unfortunately, your most recent comments make no sense at all! I first reported these two drains as blocked on 3rd June (425475), then, because no action had been taken, again on 8th Nov (436236). Both drains are blocked solid and are scarcely recognisable as drains at all - basically invisible and non-functional. Please don't talk about 'extreme weather', nor about 'if the problem happens again' - these drains have been totally blocked since last summer! What are the residents of Cumberland Gardens paying you for exactly? The solution is simple - just come out and unblock these two drains. Thank you.

We have an update. Our highways team have issued this work out to one of their delivery gangs. We’ll let you know when the job is complete.

It is one month since your last post on this subject. Since this simple task is still outstanding six months after my initial notification to you, I thought you would like to see the consequence of your lack of action following rain (not heavy) here this morning (pictures attached). The water has started to flood into the front garden of one of my neighbours. When exactly will the two blocked/invisible drains be fixed?

It is now almost 8 months since I first reported these two blocked drains. I have provided photos before, but am now attaching an up to date picture to show that absolutely nothing has been done to correct this problem. When will you respond and take action? Allegedly the work was issued to one of your gangs on 27 Nov 2022 ............

How about you just unblock these two drains? I first reported these blocked drains to you more than 9 months ago in June 2022!!! Allegedly you put this out to one of your delivery gangs at the end of November 2022. The lack of action is frankly scandalous. PLEASE TAKE ACTION!!!! (PS. The long history is interesting, thank you to whoever posted it).
