Road drain blocking up with pine tree needles

Reported via desktop in the Blocked drain category anonymously at 13:52, Tuesday 15 November 2022

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 436899.

A main surface road drain, where Cemetry Lane meets Boston Road in Spilsby, has become blocked up with pine needles which are continually falling off a nearby overhanging Scots pine tree that is in the neighboring cemetery. I keep moving the debris that keeps falling off the tree away from the drain cover; however, the drain cover needs to be lifted, and the drains well thoroughly cleaning out by a specialist contractor, which I of course cannot do. I would be most grateful if this could be attended to. Thank you.

    State changed to: Investigating

  • Why have we closed this report? There's no standing water and a biennial cleanse was last undertaken on 13/08/21. It’s worth noting though that at times of extreme weather even well-maintained drains like these can be overwhelmed. If the problem happens again but in less extreme conditions then please report this to us and we will investigate the issue again. Thank you for reporting this matter.

State changed to: No further action
