Footbridge connecting Mitchell Dive to the West Common

Reported via desktop in the Bridge or Structure category anonymously at 16:39, Thursday 24 November 2022

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 438121.

Not sure who is responsible for this footbridge, I contacted City of Lincoln Council but did not receive a reply. The timber decking planks are starting to break up and it will soon become unsafe to walk across.

  • Thanks for getting in touch with us. In this case, we’re not responsible for this issue. We do not have any record of this footbridge. It does not carry a Highway footpath or other Public Right of Way. This does beg the question why the footpath upto it has been adopted, but it is not owned by the Highway Authority. We would suggest it is the responsibility of the City of Lincoln Council as part of the Common. You can report this to them at https://www.lincoln.gov.uk/ contact-1 Thank you for reporting this matter.

State changed to: not the council's responsibility
