Footpath from church bends to bungalows unwalkable
Reported via desktop in the Trip hazard/uneven surface category by Graham Newton at 07:15, Sat 26 November 2022
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 438334.
The hedgerow has not been trimmed back for quite a while and should be done twice a year, therefore, the footpath is unusable and also the width has been reduced to 12" in places, this has been reported by many people, many times for years

We are sorry but we are not taking immediate action with this report because on inspection the hedges/trees are not overgrown. However, we will monitor and take appropriate action when required. Thank you for reporting this matter.

I object to being called a liar when you state that hedgerows and footpaths are acceptable and do not need attention. I have informed the residents of Thimbleby of your reply to my request for action and will be forwarding their reply to your refusal to fix the problem to our MP, who I had to make a complaint about your lack of action a year ago. I will also be sending you a full response from the villager as soon as I have received all the replies.

Lesley Lowe They obviously haven't been to look at them
Graham Newton Lesley Lowe Well I actually see a worker by the bench seat/bin taking pictures, so they have
Lesley Lowe Graham Newton well the hedge is forcing people to walk on the grass so is overgrown.
Graham Newton Lesley Lowe don't tell me I know, tell the council. I am waiting to see how many more comments I get from this posting and then will reply back to the council ************ Jannette Sutcliffe It was mentioned by another resident from Horncastle. (a dog walker) at the last council meeting last month in the old school. They also suggested fix my street when it was mentioned mobility scooters, prams etc would find it unpassable.. I suggest you contact the parish council clerk your response from fix my street.. Or maybe our local MP Graham Newton Jannette Sutcliffe There was a time I would follow this up with my MP, The parish council are waste of time I understand. I have no interest in the village now Jannette as I seem to be the only one who does anything about anything, and by the way, you are right the footpath is not suitable for prams etc even walkers have to walk on the muddy grass.
Jannette Sutcliffe The parish Council know the hedge belongs to house behind the church.. So i don't know why there hasn't been a polite letter to to occupiers telling them the problem
Graham Newton Jannette Sutcliffe Over five years ago when I was doing the TIN village newsletter I had this battle about the boundary of the Vicarage hedgerow. Council says it's the vicarage's responsibility and the vicarage says it's the council's. If you look in the hedge you can see the boundary fence, but the council are trying to say that the hedge has been allowed to grow beyond the boundary, so it is a stalemate, what is stupid about it is a man with a hedge trimmer would cut it back in an hour ******************************* Jan Clarke I have never heard anything so stupid. Who are these idiots, have they even tried to walk along this path. If you try your next stop will be in A&E with either a fall injury or a eye missing. You have to dice with death on the road or risk slipping on the grass verge. When the hedge was last cut, it was only trimmed, it needs cutting back hard Graham Newton Jan Clarke Thanks you for your comment I will be passing this posting and comments to our MP and the council ****************************** Sarah Melton OMG, well Ive heard and read it all now..Did they take a sausage dog to test it as even Lola walks on the side else she would get her eyes poked..If it was any of us we would be made to do something about it..😕..xxx Graham Newton Sarah Melton I am pleased to get this feedback as I am forwarding it to our MP and council. *********************** Graham Newton Thanks to the villager who have responded with a reply. I intend to forward our complaint to our MP to get our footpaths usable for all, OLD, DISABLED, MOBILITY SCOOTERS AND PUSHCHAIRS. Please comment if you want to see things done. Thank You
************ Isobel Rawdon Hi, I have really struggled to push my grandson in his buggy on this path, living in the older part of Thimbleby and trying to walk towards Horncastle is very unsafe. Isobel Lesley Lowe Isobel Rawdon it's bad enough walking the dog Isobel, I can imagine how hard it will be with a buggy. x
Isobel Rawdon Lesley Lowe it’s terrible, as you have to go on to the grass and it’s so uneven and slippy. X
