Outside Lynton (house name) Northgate, west Pinchbeck

Reported via mobile in the Standing water covering less than half the road category anonymously at 11:07, Wed 18 January 2023

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 444475.

This is the third time I have reported this, I received an email stating it was now fixed & case closed. The drains were cleaned twice however as stated before the surface water never reaches the drains. Water from the rain, collects in the kerb the length of the property, stays until it eventually dries up . Excess water continually runs off the road down pavement into our gate way, this is continuous I believe it has/is causing damage to our property. There are drains situated in the pavements at either side of our property but due to the run off the water never gets to the drain for two reasons 1 the kerb has been lowered for some length which channels the water, 2 the pavement also runs back to our property so the surface water from the road and pavement/verge channels into our garden and floods. This has now caused damp in our property, and as previously stated we are concerned regarding damage to our foundations. A short term fix would be a fillet of tarmack laid on the dropped kerb which would direct the water to the drain. Our other concern is the amount/depth of water outside our property, when vehicles go through it, it soaks who ever is in our gateway\ garden this happens until it eventually dries up.

  • A yrs later still nothing done, as I stated before I have had to install a paving slab to stop the water that comes off the road. Here are new photos giving a idea of the volume of water this property has endured for over 6 decades, the water now floods the path and still enters our property. We have suffered damp inside our property and one has to wonder what damage has been done to the foundations over the decades. As stated before there are two large drains at each end of the property on the path, such is the poor drain off none of the water reaches the drain. I feel I have no other option then to seek professional advice regarding the damage to our property as this has been caused by the highways dept.
