Investigating
Roundabout at bottom of Broadway / top of Shakespeare Way
Reported via desktop in the Other road surface issue category anonymously at 13:39, Wed 18 January 2023
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 444504.
The gritter lorries don't come down the full length of Broadway, and instead turn off along Horseshoe Road. Is it possible for them to continue along Broadway to include the roundabout. This roundabout can be lethal on icy or snowy days, and with people coming down Broadway at speed, they don't seem to realise that the last section from Horseshoe Road to the roundabout isn't gritted. It now carries a lot of traffic due to the ever expanding St Johns Circus development. I would also suggest it continuing along Shakespeare Way at least until just after the sharp bend. This is also now used by a lot of traffic which is continuing to grow. One car has already come off at the bend and flattened a tree in the last couple of years. Cars are also speeding from the roundabout down to the tight corner and it's an accident waiting to happen. Could speed calming measures be considered for Broadway and the top of Shakespeare Way?
