Report no. 442826
Reported via desktop in the Street light category by Sue Ransome at 20:43, Tue 31 January 2023
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 446528.
I received an email today to tell me that the problem with the streetlights on Spalding Road between the ATS roundabout heading north to the entrance to the Aggregate’s storage next to the railway lines, which I reported were out had now been fixed. WRONG, still not fixed, I have been down this evening and the lights are still out.
This was the same problem when they went out a couple of years ago and were only repaired around Christmas 2022, again, I had a couple of emails to say that they had been repaired which they hadn’t.
Please would you arrange for someone to check the stretch of Spalding Road, from the turning into Redstone Estate right down to the entrance into the yard where aggregates are stored on the left hand side heading north and the right hand side from the pedestrian crossing up to the level crossing, also heading north, they are all out and have been for two or three weeks now.
Not wishing to teach you to suck eggs, but it may be an idea for someone to check during the evening once it is dark, so then they will be able to see exactly which lights are out.
Unfortunately, the sticky numbers which were applied for easy identification, have all now faded in the sunshine, making clear details impossible.
I still have very grave concerns for people, particularly females, who walk along that stretch of road going to work on the Marsh Lane industrial estate on shift work.
Please sort this before there is an accident or injury caused by the lack of light.
This was originally given the report number 442826.
Regards
Sue Ransome

Unfortunately, Boston Borough Council have a very bad habit of annotating many of the problems reported here as being "fixed". It appears to be a sanctioned campaign to massage the statistics in order to give the impression of efficiency. Disingenuous and very wrong.
