Outside 124 Ermine Street, Ancaster

Reported via desktop in the Flowing water, life or property at risk category by Jill Hopkinson at 12:32, Friday 10 March 2023

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 450519.

Flowing down gutter outside 122, drain is overflowing, water coming down drive of 124 and pooling outside front door. Carries very fine mud which becomes as slippery as ice and poses a serious hazard.

You have told me recently that you’ve fixed this problem but nothing was done. An extra drain needs to be put in preferably before the road is resurfaced on 23rd March

  • Ref 450519 I believe water may be coming from broken tarmac near the burst water main fixed a month ago. It is pooling outside 124 and running down the drive.

This is an additional problem to the overflowing water when it rains.

A drain seems to be essential.

  • Ref 450519 Thank you for letting me know you’ve passed this on to Highways. The drain is blocked and overflowing again and water is pouring along the road, up to a third of its width. Would Highways like to come and inspect when it’s raining? We need a drain, preferably a French drain across the width of our drive as we have no drain at all outside our house and the drive slopes in two directions, down Ermine Street and also towards the house. We would very much appreciate your help in this.
