The place name South Hykeham sign has been hit by a vehicle

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 451714.

The street sign has been hit by a caravan being towed by a Range Rover Discovery and demolished it and destroyed the litterbin attached to it. The carriageway has been scored deeply by the runaway caravan which has mounted the kerb and damaged it and has then travelled along the verge churning the turf up and damaging the pavement and has then demolished the signs and the litterbin. The driver left the scene with his caravan heading towards town after having reattached the caravan but leaving debris from the caravan behind. The incident was witnessed by pedestrians waiting at the bus shelter at about 11am on Thurs 16t h March. Sopers garage has CCTV of the incident and witnessed the incident. This report was given to the Parish Council chairman whilst she was litterpicking this morning. She is contacting the police to advise of this information.
