A17 travelling East just before Swineshead Bridge, just after temporary construction compound and site access road.

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 451870.

Travelling from Keswick Cumbria to our home in Norfolk on Saturday 18th March at 12:28pm I hit a large pothole while travelling in traffic moving at 50mph. Pothole is passenger side exactly on travel line. I was unable to take evasive action as there was on coming traffic, I was also unable to stop safely to take any photos etc due to traffic. Upon inspection of my tyre the pothole has caused significant damage.

  • Travelling on this road I just managed “ dodge “ a huge deep wide pothole. Thank god it was in the day time. It’s in the road on the left hand side right where you drive. If a motorcycle or cyclist was to hit this huge pot hole it would fling them off into a very busy road. Please please get this fixed before someone is killed.

    Ref 415870 further to report on Monday 20th March, Pothole damage has resulted in a new tyre with damage to actual wheel which upon inspection and subsequent advice will need replaced.
