Corner of church street and halmer gate
Reported via desktop in the Standing water covering more than half the road category anonymously at 12:30, Mon 20 March 2023
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 451912.
Blocked drain which now covers half of the road and pavement after even slight rain, this is very dangerous on a bend cars swerving to miss the water driving into oncoming traffic, also risk to pedestrians especially busy with school children, who now risk crossing the road further away from the bend where they can’t see the oncoming traffic, this has been present since the Autumn leaves came down.

How much longer will it be before this road gulley is cleaned, it is full of silt & debris. It is causing untold damage along the footpath and with cold weather predicted will be a trip hazard. Due to the time taking to fix this issue I will be writing to our MP ☹️

This is what happens when cars come round - they are unable to avoid the water by going onto the other side of the road because of the bollards at the crossing. This is a long standing problem and although I have seen people trying to deal with it on several occasions, it hasn’t had any effect. This is a route used by many pedestrians coming into town, and by lots of school children. If you happen to be on that corner as a car comes round, you get absolutely soaked - the car driver can’t avoid it! It really is time to fix the problem properly, rather that just tinkering with it every time someone complains - surely that would be cheaper in the long run.

The road floods here when it rains and the water takes a very long time go down to afterwards. Despite reporting this twice before the drain remains blocked.
