Access concerns
Reported via mobile in the Pothole on road/cycleway category anonymously at 21:10, Tuesday 11 April 2023
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 455126.
Hello, there are at least 68 potholes more than 40mm deep along our road. This is the only access by vehicle and foot to our property and our neighbours.
My husband is undergoing chemotherapy and has had a number of emergencies since his diagnosis in June 2022. This current round of chemotherapy lasts until September 2023.
Due to his cancer diagnosis, his mobility and health is impacted long term. At present it is difficult for him to gain access to external support as he is immuno compromised. Therefore there is a heavily reliance on deliveries and support to gain access. Drivers have started stating again that they may not be able to continue.
Both us and our neighbours also rely on gas, oil and septic tank services to our homes, therefore without access this would create a significant issue.
Our elderly neighbours have a similar issue with one of them having severe mobility issues where for the majority of the week are restricted to their home.
Please could this be revisited as the continued filling of isolated potholes lasts for approx 6-9 months before the problem reoccurs. This will be costly to the council and also causes great concern and inconvenience to us residents.
The cul-de-sac are going to have a full road resurface later in the year, would it be considered to include catchwater Bank in scope of this refurbishment?
Many thanks
Emma

This has not been completed. Less than a quarter of the length of the tracks potholes have been completed from the bottom of the track from the road. No vehicle came up further the track to assess and repair the other significantly sized ones near the two properties. Please can this be rectified.

I’ve added some photos. A few potholes have been fixed at the end of the road but the vast majority and the ones causing problems have not been touched and are getting worse.
The access issues are a real concern. Residents have severe health issues and one has a blue badge.
We are worried about the damage being caused to our cars which are essential in this rural area and even have difficulty getting our rubbish to Fen Road for collection.
Would you please look at providing a more substantial fix to this problem which has been happening for years.
