Investigating
A151 feom Market Cross Surgery to The Woodhouse
Reported via desktop in the Other road surface issue category anonymously at 10:21, Mon 24 April 2023
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 456780.
According to your good selves this part of the road is not a problem. Being woken up in the early hours of the morning through the clatter and banging of the HGV's as they pass over this bit of road is a real problem to the people who live near it. It may not have deep potholes but it does have dips that when hit by a passing HGV make a dreadful noise. It scares animals and children let alone the elderly in the complex nearby. We feel so strongly about this that a complaint was put forward to our Parish Council and SKDC to try and persuade your good selves to remedy the situation. Perhaps if you just waited by the side of the road for a HGV to come past you would see exactly what we mean. We need help, not a brush off. Thank you.

Upon re-examining the road we believe the noise is caused by a sunken drain in the gutter. The HGV's have to drive close to the gutters because of the width of the road. Thank you

At 2.45AM today we were woken by an HGV hitting the sunken drain, the noise was indescribable. This has been reported so many times, the whole road would like a good night's sleep. During the day vibrations can be felt and sometimes the noise can be very frightening. Please help.

We live on the complex for okder residents, which is not next to the 151, but the noise when lorries, especially when empty, pass throughthe village is bad. On accasions you would think there has been an accident. Nightly passing of lorries through the village, wake you with a start. This is not ideal for tesidents who are retired, elderly and need quiet.

Thursday 24 August woken at 2.10am by a HGV hurling itself over the uneven road surface and sunken drains on the A151 between the Market Cross Surgery and the Woodhouse Arms. Friday 25th woken at 3.30am for the same. We are sleeping with all windows closed even on the warmest nights, because of the noise.
