On westbound verge, in line with field boundary and old utility trench reinstatements beneath surface dressing on the carriageway.

Reported via desktop in the Manhole/drain cover on pavement/verge category anonymously at 17:29, Friday 26 May 2023

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 460388.

Appears to be a very old chamber with remnants of totally disintegrated cast iron cover to one side, very overgrown and obscured by vegetation. Likely a redundant water service chamber, given the close proximity of another more modern chamber. Although unlikely to be encountered by people, very dangerous to anyone who is working on the verge, including me!
