The final stone pillar on the limestone barrier that runs alongside Monks road, Arboretum Raised Pavement, opposite Florence street, opposite the CO OP.

Reported via desktop in the Roadside safety barrier category by Kevin Martin at 14:00, Fri 2 June 2023

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 460967.

At approximately 09:53 this morning a white Mercedes Flatbed Scaffolding lorry, performed a three point turn using the entrance to Floerence Street to put his front end into. He promptly reversed into the last pillar on the stone wall that runs along the side of the Arbortetum and Monks Road. The driver stopped as soon as he connected with the pillar and drove off. His window was open and it made a lound sound of contact. The lorry then parked beside the old church, further up Monks Road, towards the City, where works are in place on scaffolding. The vehicle was two up and his passenger did not serve as banksman. The pillar has shifted about 3 inches, and whilst in situ could be pushed over into the road. I am a COLC Officer and was in a car immediately behind the lorry. My vision was unobscurred and had clear site of what happened and the damage caused, being approximately 4 meteres away. The lorry VRM is CE12 CHZ. I am happy to provide a witness statement in relation to this, and i was accompanied by a second officer.
