Investigating
Either end of the pathway linking Collingwood and Mendip avenue
Reported via mobile in the Bollards (unlit) category by Jill Wilson at 20:59, Sun 18 June 2023
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 462560.
We need a barrier at each end, as elsewhere in North Hykeham, rather than bollards, please. Motor bike riders race through the pathway both ways, making it highly dangerous for children who might be playing in the area.

I have previously raised this as well and been told it’s not a priority. I’ve seen 3 motorbikes use the cut through today and going through at very high speeds. A child will be killed before they put up a barrier

Nearly had an RTC when a young lad came out of the pathway on his moped or off road bike to join Mendip. They appear to be using it as a short cut but it’s going to end up with someone being hurt if it’s not gated off. A lot of the other walkways in Hykeham have staggered fences to prevent this but for some reason this one’s been left as it is.

See a lot people waiting in this alley way like they’re waiting for something…

In this instance we don’t intend on taking immediate action. Because our current resources are extremely limited we have to focus our enforcement on matters of a significant danger or nuisance to road users. We can, however, continue to monitor the site during our routine inspections and will review the situation. Thank you for reporting this matter.
